How do I record conversation in Ventrilo?

Recording conversations in Ventrilo is a very simple task. Log on to Ventrilo, and perform the following actions to record a conversation. All files will be saved in your Ventrilo directory as "vtf" files. They can be loaded into Ventrilo at any time.


Recording

  • Right Click on the Server Name.
  • Choose View -> Record / Playback.
  • Click Record.
  • Click Stop to stop recording.
  • Click Play to play the recording back.
  • Click Save to save the recording.
  • Click Info to see more information on the recorded file.


Opening/Playback

  • To play back a record file, Right Click on the Server Name.
  • Choose View -> Record / Playback.
  • Click Open. Select your file. Choose Open.
  • Click "Play."


Backing Up Recordings

  • All recordings should be stored in the following tree structure for Windows.
  • Documents And Settings \ Username \ Application Data \ Ventrilo \ Recordings


Disabling Recording on the User Level

  • Recording others without both parties knowing is illegal in most states.
  • Should you not want your voice recorded, simply right-click on your Server name.
  • Go to Change State.
  • Un-check "Allow others to record my conversation."
